Catalyst

Client: Commission for Racial Equality (CRE)

Skills: Magazine design, Art direction, typography, branding, illustration

Catalyst was by no means a CRE ‘house magazine’. Most contributors were independent journalists, writers and reputed commentators with a variety of perspectives from across the political spectrum. As the name ‘Catalyst’ suggests, the aim of the magazine was expressly to foster frank and fertile debate and exchange on contentious topics affecting community relations. The design brief called for a distinctive visual identity , and generous use of images commissioned from illustrators.
